My name is Aavani, studying in 2nd standard.
Pappa used to play with me a lot. Since 2 weeks he is in a gloomy mood. Today, while he was talking with someone I overheard him saying that I am suffering from an illness called 'MEDULOBLASTOMA',. I was in Baby Memorial Hospital, Calicut last week for a surgery. After the surgery Doctor Uncle advised me to meet another Dr.Uncle in a Hospital at Bangalore. My further treatment requires around 4-5 lakhs is what I know. Poor Pappa!!! He is trying his level best to give me a new lease of life.

If you all can help me to come out of this pain,then I can start playing with my sweet pappa …………

August - 20 - 2011 - Treatment Updates

On 17th august me and pappa met Dr.Uncle here in Amritha Hospital(Dr.Pavithran). And he said that my CSF Cytology analysis report is negative. It was a big relief for my pappa!
So the next step will be Radiation and for that we met Dr.Durgapoorna (Radiation Oncology). I heard that the radio therapy will go on for around 6 weeks or so. As per their suggestion CT Stimulation and mask preparation (http://www.rmg.md/simulation.htm) have been done.It took almost 7 long Hours to complete this preparation and i was so tired wearing the mask but some how i was trying hard to cop with it

I reached back to Home on 18th ,and I am very happy to see my Ammuchechi after some days.. But again we need to go to Amritha on 23rd for starting Radiation therapy Trial.

August 04 2011 - Going to Bangalore

Today evening I started from Calicut, to meet another Dr.Uncle in Bangalore. My sister was little upset as she will be missing me for few days. At last somehow I managed by assuring her that I will return within 2 days.

Sorry..... Forgot to mention the main thing. Thanks a lot for your quick response, till today evening I received Rs.36,000/- from you all.

Tomorrow I will update you my new experiences in Bangalore city after meeting new Dr.Uncle .

August 05 2011- At HCG Bangalore

Today i was with many Dr Uncle's at HCG hospital, Bangalore. A few of them where going through my files and was discussing many things with my pappa. I was a bit down today because of the long travel i did last night and also because i was not getting anything i like to eat. An other Dr. Uncle told my pappa that i need to come back tomorrow for doing a few scans. I miss my sister and i wish i could go home and meet her very soon..

August 06 2011 - Goodbye Bangalore

Today the Dr Uncle at HCG, Bangalore gave me a TREATMENT PLAN which will last for almost a year. So my pappa told that we are leaving home today. I know it was a tough decision for him to take because i could hear my pappa discussing about this to many over the phone. But for me it was very different. Going home really makes me feel very happy as I was missing my Ammu chechi a lot. So finally after two tiresome days in Bangalore I am feeling so good. When I asked with my pappa, he said these are the REASONS , why he decided to take me back to Kerala.

August 14 2011 - My recent treatment updates

I met my doctor uncle at BMH, Calicut on 11th august for my neuro surgery review. Doctor uncle told me that my wound has healed well and so I can proceed with my further treatment.
So pappa took me to Amrita Instititute Of Medical Science, Ernakulam where I met a new Doctor Uncle, Dr. K. Pavithran (Senior Onchologist). Pappa told me that here after this uncle will be taking care of me. On 12th they have taken my MRI Scan (brain) and on 13th they collected CSF from my spine for CSF cytology analysis ( click here for more about CSF Cytology) . I will get the result of this analysis on 17th august. So I' am back home now and will return to Amrita on 17th morning to collect the lab results and to meet my doctor uncle with the reports to decide my treatment protocol.
